Notes on Repertoire Selection
When submitting your entry, you must list all repertoire through the Final.
Repetition of the same piece across different stages (First Stage to Final) is not allowed.
Only published works are permitted. Unconventional playing techniques such as prepared piano or extended techniques are not allowed.
Changes to the repertoire for the Semifinal and Final are only allowed during the following period:
Repertoire Change Period: June 1 (Mon) – June 8 (Mon), 2026
Performance Guidelines for Semifinal and Final
The performance time limit does not include time for entering, exiting, or pauses between pieces. Exceeding the time limit will result in a point deduction.
Excerpts are allowed from sonatas, suites, preludes, and etude collections. However, excerpts from variation works are not permitted.
Performing a different piece than the one submitted will result in disqualification.
Notes on Video Submission
YouTube Video Screening
The First and Second Stages will be judged based on performance videos uploaded to YouTube. Please submit the video URL via the designated form linked in your entry confirmation email.
Access to the form is only available during the submission period.
Guidelines for Recording Your Performance Video
Use a single fixed camera. The camera angle should clearly show yourentire body, with a focus on your hands.
If you are performing multiple pieces, play them continuously in one take. If you combine separately recorded videos into one, your entry will be disqualified. The order of the pieces is up to you.
The submitted video must not be edited or processed in any way from the beginning to the end of the performance.
The video should contain performance only—no bows or greetings. Also, please keep the silence before and after the performance as short as possible.
The video must be recorded on or after Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
Make sure that no personally identifiable information appears in the video.
We recommend using a manual (fixed) recording level instead of an automatic (auto) setting. Auto settings can reduce dynamic range and affect the evaluation of your performance.
Please check the volume level of your video. If the sound is too loud, it may be distorted; if it is too quiet, background noise may make the music difficult to hear.
Uploading to YouTube and Registering the URL
Before submitting the link, confirm that the video plays correctly. Once registered, the video cannot be changed.
Set the video to “Unlisted.”
Your 4-digit entry ID is listed in the confirmation email.
Use only this 4-digit ID (e.g., 1004) as the video title.
Videos with any other information in the title will be disqualified. This ID will also be used for the Second Stage.
In the video description field, enter only the piece title and the composer.
Any other information will result in disqualification.
Submit your video using the designated link provided in the entry confirmation email.
